Named for Italy's Stelvio Pass, one of the most famous and exceptional Alpine driving roads, these sunglasses are produced by Autodromo for HODINKEE. Each pair takes weeks to hand-craft in Japan, in a process that spans hand-carving the form from the highest quality acetate to a two week polishing regimen to final assembly and hand-finishing. Theses are much more laboriously crafted than the so-called "luxury" sunglasses you can find almost anywhere today.
The style is inspired by the mid-century racing and the polarized Cognac lenses perfectly complement Amber acetate frames. This color combination is exclusive to HODINKEE and only 50 individually numbered pairs have been made. Subtle "Autrodromo" branding adorns one lens and the inside arm is stamped "Autodromo for HODINKEE" along with each pair's individual number.
A quilted leather case finishes things off and the magnetic closer allows one-handed opening for grabbing your glasses while keeping a hand on the wheel. A cleaning cloth is also included in the package. Lenses are 49mm wide, the nosebridge is 20mm across, and the frames 135mm temple to temple. Arms are 105mm from the temple until they begin to curve behind the ear.
