Los Angeles based starup 1Lss has announced the official launch of its next generation MagBak through the popular crowd funding website KickStarter. Having launched the original MagBack last year with great success their new product targets Apple’s latest tablet, iPad Air, as well as all generations of iPad Minis. With this new line of products, 1Lss intends to expand the market and support virtually all iPad models.
The group at 1Lss has also made some interesting changes as it relates to MagBak’s mounting mechanism. With the introduction of MagStick they have simplified and refined how iPad can be mounted to non-metal surfaces. MagStick is a minimalist, versatile, and highly functional sidekick to MagBak that is as innovative as MagBak itself.
This new MagBak also kept all the great features of its predecessor. It snaps SmartCover neatly in place to the back of the iPad.The silicone texture feels great to touch. It grips your iPad to the surface it’s sitting on and prevents accidental drops. And lastly it raises the iPad just enough to keep the back protected.
In the 6 months that MagBak has been available, thousands of units have been shipped and customer feedback has been very positive. 1Lss inc. hopes to raise $15,000 before April 16, 2014 to fund the project. Pledges start at $29 for the “Early Bird” pledge level. Those who pledge $34 or more will receive one MagBak in any color, plus a MagStick. For a pledge of $49 or more, backers will receive a MagBak with up to 4 MagSticks. Other pledge levels are also available. Assuming that the project is successfully funded, gifts will ship in late April.
